Welcome! This is my first post at Joyful Mornings.
These were taken during early spring in Los Angeles at the Ballona Wetlands, a small ecological reserve across the street from the condo we used to live in. On this walk we saw bunnies, a great blue heron, ducks, lots of wild flowers and scary signs for rattle snakes. Luckily, no actual rattle snakes were spotted. While living in LA, I loved feeling the beat of the city, the beautiful blue sky and sun, sidewalks for miles, resort style pools and the excitement of adventuring into the beautiful outdoors and finding a small nature getaway like this spot. Not having nature in my backyard (not having a backyard, for that matter) made it all that much more special. I grew up in rural Virginia and when nature is constantly at your finger tips, you tend to take it all for granted. With spots like this one, you can have the city life conveniences of five star restaurants, shopping malls and boutiques while enjoying what nature has to offer.
Since then we’ve moved across the country to Connecticut and we are New Englanders now! We are in the process of buying a home (I appreciate your prayers!) and we are looking forward to another “new life”, full of exploration and adventures!
