I am a self-taught watercolor artist, plant-person, second-hand lover, ENFP who appreciates intimate gatherings. I love a good street taco second to a loaded poke bowl. I gravitate towards bright, vibrant colors, everything feminine and joyful.
Artist, wife & mom. Raising my daughters and caring for my family is my calling, my first love. Art is a very close second. Every hour not spent on my family, laundry, and exploring
Washington, D.C. Los Angeles New England, are spent sketching and dabbing color on paper.
Watercolor. Watercolor is a magical medium, with a mind of its own and a gentle forgiveness for an artist with a busy life. I hope that this blog and my work inspires you to pick up a paintbrush and put it to paper. Don’t wait, do it today. And don’t worry about what might not look so perfect and polished. Art is a journey.
Grace at home. I love hanging out in a kitchen, cooking early and easy for dinner, and a glass of wine at home. I savor slow days after finding gratitude in a fast-paced, cadenced life. I love God and I find gratitude in the truth of His design. I find peace and prayer in sketching and painting florals and nature. I collect plants and pigments, and I feel most at home on the river, on a placid evening.
If you have inspiration for a piece you’d like for me to create, please share it with me and we can make your dream a reality.
Photography. I shoot with a classic Nikon D50 along with slightly higher technology, a Nikon D3300. On especially sassy days my iPhone does the job. My favorite editing tools are Adobe Lightroom for DSLR pics, A Color Story app and VSCO Cam app for iPhone.
